BICKEL-TEC is taking new approaches in recruiting apprentices
In recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to attract young school graduates to the demanding profession of a vehicle painter. Most young people no longer want to get their hands dirty in their chosen profession and no longer want to perform strenuous work.
Unfortunately, the situation is exactly the same in the training profession of body and vehicle mechanic as well as in the profession of metal technician, even though both professions offer a wide variety of career opportunities in vehicle construction in later professional life.
In the field of vehicle refinishing, it is also becoming increasingly difficult to recruit qualified professionals, making it increasingly difficult to meet the diverse customer requirements.
Given these problematic developments, the management has therefore decided to take completely new approaches in recruiting apprentices.
Thus, for the first time, an apprentice was recruited from Morocco through the accelerated skilled worker program of the German federal government. He had already completed an apprenticeship in automotive paint coating in his home country and wishes to continue his training in the commercial vehicle sector in Germany. Although the skilled worker program through the migration office at the district office and the German embassy in Rabat is very complex, his very positive attitude towards acquiring further specialized knowledge was already evident during his few days of employment. After completing the successful training, he wishes to remain permanently in Germany.
The second trainee has already tried unsuccessfully in another vocational training program and now brings with him an extremely positive attitude towards his favorite profession with the necessary time distance and mature age.
The 3rd trainee also brings with him/her life experience as a recognized refugee from Nigeria and at an unusual age of 36, which is already having a very positive effect on his/her training activities after just a few days.
For those undecided, we point out that apprenticeship positions in the automotive industry are still available now and until September 1, 2023.
